Through mundane, messy, and challenging interaction, ties emerge. The phenomenon of intertwining captivates me as an artist, and in all my work.
My art explores the nature of integration; disparate parts pulled/pulling toward wholeness. Reminiscing, incorporating, embracing, and experimenting, my work is a search for how lived experiences, persons and even the spiritual, material, and natural world relate.
The evolution of my art aligns with my aspiration to work towards human flourishing in the world. In many ways, my artwork marks the ideological journey which simultaneously under-girds and springs from my own experiences of community.
